MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL MOMENT
Taking my kids to Disney World and watching their faces light up as they soaked in everything around them.
MY MOST EMBARRASSING TRAVEL MOMENT
A few years ago while on a trip to Mexico, my husband and I decided to take advantage of a guided “wave runner lagoon tour” our hotel was offering. According to the write–up, it was to be a calm and serene scenic group tour of the lagoon area with guides. I thought this was a perfect excursion for me, since I was 7 months pregnant and hadn’t been able to take advantage of much Mexico had to offer. So, we signed up and climbed on the run–down, off–brand wave runner they gave us. Then, about 2 minutes into the ride, the guide took off as fast as possible and our serene ride quickly became anything but! As we bounced around violently on the waves, I squeezed my husband’s arm and made him stop right there. Then, we flagged down one of the guides for assistance. As I started to apologize and explain my situation, he started yelling at me in Spanish! I had to climb on the back of his wave runner, while the rest of the group idled in the water, so he could drop me off on shore. He swore at me the whole time. Then, I just sat on the beach by myself while my husband had to finish what seemed like the longest tour of all time.
MY FAVORITE MEAL WHILE TRAVELING
Migas at Manuel’s in South Padre Island, Texas. They have the best homemade tortillas that are about the size of a truck tire!
