My favorite travel destinations:
Umbria: traveling through the small villages and living among the people, learning their culture was unbelievable, not to mention the wine!
St Remy in Provence: my children are fluent in French and watching them mingle with the natives and wow them with their language skills was very special, then there was the wine!
My most memorable moment:
Stumbling upon the Palio in Sienna and Scuba diving in the BVI
My most embarrassing moment:
The first time I had been abroad was when I planned a surprise trip to Ireland right after my husbands’ father had died (he was very Irish and helped me plan the trip). As I booked the lodging, I was so surprised by the great places we were able to afford, they were all so very spectacular! Then when I got home, it became very apparent that I had transposed the exchange rate in my thinking – I had thought $1 meant 60 cents, not $1.60! No wonder we stayed in such great places – we couldn’t afford them!

Brescoli and arugula pizza in Tuscany
Fresh lobster in St. Maarten served with grapefruit and avacado
