The Places I’ve Visited
I’ve only traveled throughout the United States and Canada, but my ever-growing list of places I’d like to go includes Tanzania, Greece, Italy, Zambia and Costa Rica.
The year I started with travel beyond
2010
My Most Memorable Travel Moment
One of my favorite travel moments was touring the West Wing of the White House in Washington D.C. while my brother was an intern in the Vice President’s office. I loved seeing firsthand the rooms throughout the West Wing that have harbored some of the most important debates, decisions and moments in history.
Another memorable moment occurred in California when my track team competed on a track that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. I was so happy to run with my amazing teammates next to a picturesque sunset with ocean air filling my lungs that I almost forgot I was racing!
My Most Embarrassing Travel Moment
My most embarrassing travel moment happened the first time I flew on an airplane when I was 16. We missed our flight, so we had to fly standby. When we boarded, somebody was already in my new seat, so the attendant made me get off the plane. Since my other four family members were scattered throughout the plane, I was a little nervous that nobody knew I was gone. My step-dad, in the back of the plane, realized what was happening and told the flight attendant I could have his seat instead. Meanwhile, a lady sitting next to my mom started loudly talking to other passengers about how awful it was to split up a family on Easter weekend. A few minutes after my step-dad left, they somehow found another available seat, so they called up to have him sent back to the plane. The people on the plane all clapped when they let him back on, and my first flight finally took off!
My Favorite Meal While Traveling
I love any sort of dessert, so testing out the various ice cream parlors and bakeries while traveling is a must.
