Botswana is a year-round safari destination with two distinct safari seasons, each one advantageous for travelers.
Dry Season: Winter (June – October)
- Cloudless, sunny days; cool/cold nights; and crisp mornings
- Outstanding game viewing: animals gather around remaining water sources while less dense vegetation makes animals easier to see
- The bush is dry and brown so many predators blend in
- Average temperatures: 40F night, 80F day
- October game viewing is phenomenal, but it is the hottest month with daytime temperatures reaching a sticky 95-110F

Green Season: Summer (November – May)
- Lush and green with beautiful wildflowers and water lilies
- Excellent birding as all the migrant species have returned
- Rich colors for photography
- New-born antelopes
- The bush is alive with the sounds of birds, frogs and insects
- Rains usually come in short, regional, heavy thunderstorms creating gorgeous skies

- Peak rain months are January and February
