Rwenzori Mountains

Africa’s highest mountains are known as the “Mountains of the Moon” and were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for their incredible plant life and outstanding natural beauty. The main attraction is the luxuriant vegetation found above 9,500 feet, including giant lobelia, heather and groundsel.

  • Africa’s third highest peak – Mount Margherita at 15,330 ft.
  • Rainforests with monkeys and birds
  • Hyrax, blue monkey, chimpanzee, giant forest hog along with many unique bird species
