Kafue National Park

Zambia’s oldest and largest National Park is remote, wild and game-rich. Its wide rivers for fishing, excellent birding and game viewing, lead to open plains, woodlands, and the vast seasonal floodplains of the antelope and predator-rich Busanga Plains.

What Will I See?

  • Over 500 bird species
  • The Busanga Plains – vast savannah floodplains full of antelope and predators during the dry season
  • High density of lions
  • The greatest diversity of antelope in Africa, including large numbers of roan antelope
  • The lush Lunga, Lufupa and Kafue Rivers teeming with hippos, crocs, fish and birds

What Can I Do?

  • Game drives
  • Walking safaris
  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Canoeing
  • Horseback safaris

When Should I Go?
