Where Should I Go?

Victoria Falls

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls is twice the height of Niagara Falls and one and a half times the width.

Hwange National Park

Situated on the eastern edge of the Kalahari Desert, Hwange is Zimbabwe’s premier wildlife area and the dry home to one of the densest concentrations of game in Africa. Its ecological diversity guarantees large numbers of game year-round along with excellent birding.

Mana Pools National Park

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its intense natural beauty and abundant wildlife, Mana Pools is a spectacular park. After plunging over Victoria Falls and filling Lake Kariba, the Zambezi River opens up, becoming a fertile floodplain with four main ““pools” and several smaller pools. Set in the heart of the lush Zambezi Valley, the area boasts one of the highest concentrations of elephants and buffalo in Africa during the dry season.

Matusadona National Park

A beautiful and lush National Park famous for its water activities, inland game viewing, and huge crocodile population, Matusadona’s game viewing by boat also offers excellent fishing for the unforgettable tigerfish.

Great Zimbabwe

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its archaeological significance, this ancient city of Zimbabwe was built using massive stones without mortar between the 11th and 15th centuries. Today, it stands as one of the oldest and the largest ancient structures south of the Sahara.

When Should I Go?

Zimbabwe is a year-round tropical destination with moderate temperatures on the central plateau and a hotter climate in the low-lying Zambezi and Limpopo valleys.

Winter: from May through October; dry, warm, sunny days and cool nights.
September and October are notably hot and dry.
Summer: from November through April; hot and wet weather with beautiful, lush, green landscapes

Zimbabwe’s three safari seasons:

from April to late August: Cool and dry weather, excellent game viewing
End of August to mid-November: Hot and dry weather, still with spectacular game viewing
Mid-November to early April The green season, with excellent birding and newborn antelopes
