Australia / New Zealand

Australia

Australia is the largest island and the world’s smallest continent. Its size is comparable to the continental United States but the continent has the lowest population density in the world – only two people per square mile.

Australia is also home to a wealth of wildlife not found anywhere else in the world: there are around 800 species of birds, half of which are unique to the island. In addition, it features over 10,000 beaches (more than any other country in the world). Around 80 per cent of Australia’s southern marine species are found nowhere else in the world.

New Zealand

New Zealand was the last landmass on earth to be discovered, making it one of the world’s youngest “settled” locales. Since the first people arrived a thousand years ago many cultures have called New Zealand home. Today, a unique and dynamic culture has evolved, with European, Maori, Pacific and Asian influences.

The country is a beautiful marvel. The islands feature rugged mountains, fjords & glaciers, stunning landscapes, lush forests, amazing wildlife and a pleasant climate. New Zealand is also known as a haven for numerous outdoor activities. It’s no small wonder that this island nation invented bungee jumping.

What Can I Do?

  • Enjoy delicious local cuisine (some of the best lamb in the world)
  • Sit in amazement as you view a star-filled cave ceiling of glow worms
  • Take a Zodiac ride to the edge of a glacier in a mountain lake
  • View breathtaking fjords and mountain peaks
