  • Puna Pau – a large quarry and art studio for building moai
  • Ahu Akivi – a platform with seven moai that bear testimony to the islanders mastery of astronomy
  • Rano Raraku – a grassy sloped volcano that served as the main quarry for sculpting moai
  • Anakena Beach – one of just two sand beaches on the rocky coastline

  • Hanga Roa, the town is home to almost the entire island population of 3,000
