Learn first hand of the country's flora and fauna, visit an anti-poaching unit, and come to deeply appreciate the wildness of Zambia.

Welcome to Zambia! Upon arrival in Lusaka, you will be met and escorted to check in for your flight to Mfuwe.
Landing at the airport, you will be then be transferred to Mfuwe Lodge for one night. Relax and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure! If time permits, you can participate in a shared safari activity, including a game drive or walk. And keep your eyes open for elephants. They frequent the area and can make an appearance when you least expect!
Dinner will be served at the lodge.
Mfuwe Lodge Meals: Dinner
This morning you will participate in a shared safari activity and then be met for your shared road transfer to Chindeni Camp, your home for the next two nights.
Situated on the edge of a lagoon and surrounded by hills, Chindeni provides a breathtaking backdrop to your safari explorations. From camp you can hear the snort of nearby hippos and watch elephants wallow at the water’s edge. Numerous bird species flock to the lagoon, many of which can be spotted from the comfort of one of just four luxury tents.
What’s more, a stay at Chindeni provides direct support to the Luangwa Conservation and Community Fund, which leads initiatives throughout the park, including numerous tree planting programs. Run from local schools throughout the region, participating students have the opportunity to not only engage in reforestation but also learn about the importance of environmental stewardship. The Fund also allocates resources to providing clean water to neighboring communities. Because the safest drinking water is stored underground, the organization assists with the digging of boreholes.
Enjoy lunch on arrival and then spend the afternoon out in nature on a walking safari or shared game drive. Dinner will be served back at camp.
Chindeni Camp Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
On safari! Enjoy a day filled with a wide variety of activities. Set out in a vehicle or on foot to learn about the local flora and fauna. You can also opt to look for wildlife from the main deck or your tent, as numerous animal species congregate at the nearby lagoon.
All meals will be served at camp.
Chindeni Camp Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Following a morning activity and breakfast, you will make your way to Bilimungwe Camp.
Rather than transferring by car, however, you will have the unique opportunity to walk between properties. Over the course of 3-4 hours, you will traverse the South Luangwa landscape, encountering interesting animals while also learning about the more subtle aspects of the region. Your guide will point out tracks, scat, and other ways in which the local fauna leave their mark on the terrain. The walk provides an entirely new perspective while also minimizing your impact on the environment you are exploring.
You will arrive at Bilimungwe in time for lunch and this camp will be your base for the next two days. Set beneath a mahogany tree, it is hard not to feel entirely immersed in your surroundings while on property. Its shady main deck sits in front of multiple watering holes which, when paired with the nearby river, make Bilimungwe an animal paradise.
Like Chindeni, a stay at Bilimungwe supports conservation initiatives essential to the preservation of South Luangwa National Park, such as Conservation South Luangwa (CSL). This organization, alongside the Department of National Parks & Wildlife, works to mitigate human and animal conflict, while also providing both technical and logistical support to anti-poaching programs.
This afternoon, enjoy a shared safari activity and sundowner. Dinner will be served at camp.
Bilimungwe Camp Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Spend today taking advantage of the incredible activities available. Head out on a shared game drive and look for the predators who frequent the area. Venture out on a walking safari to learn about the local flora. Enjoy a stunning sunset or sunrise while sipping a cold beverage. The day is yours to plan as you see fit! All meals will be served at camp.
Bilimungwe Camp Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Enjoy a morning activity before being transferred to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka. From here, you will board a connecting flight to the Lufupa airstrip. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Musekese Camp, a journey that involves both a drive and short boat ride on the Kafue River.
Staying for three nights, conservation sits at the core of this camp. Musekese Conservation, established in 2017, actively works to protect park land that is east of the Kafue River, on which the camp resides. Proven to be a significant animal corridor, the organization funds five anti-poaching units in a region that is almost twice the size of the world famous Masai Mara in Kenya. Locally owned and operated, and partnering with African Parks, Musekese Conservation’s patrolling, population monitoring, and snare removal efforts ensure that Kafue National Park will remain wild and biodiverse for years to come.
After some down time, you can set off on an afternoon shared activity. Dinner will be served at camp.
Musekese Camp Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Tucked away and situated along the Kafue River, Musekese offers the perfect combination of activities. Over the next two days, you’ll have the opportunity to mix and match excursions to ensure you experience the best of Kafue.
Shared game drives are a great way to get up close to animals, including lion and leopard. Walking safaris offer you the chance to get some exercise, and are a great way to spend a morning, when temperatures are cooler.
You might consider paying a visit to one of the local anti-poaching units, where you can learn about the work being done to protect the park’s wildlife. Or you can check out the treehouse hide, located just outside of camp. Here, you can sit on one of the provided beanbag chairs, pour yourself a hot or cold beverage, and grab some binoculars. Then there’s nothing to do but relax and wait patiently to see what wildlife appears.

Musekese Camp Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
This morning after a shared game drive, you will be transferred to the Lufupa airstrip for your flight to Lusaka. From here, you will continue on to the Jeki airstrip.
Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Old Mondoro, where you will stay for three nights. This afternoon, you can participate in an afternoon activity. Dinner will be served at camp.
Old Mondoro Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
On safari! Enjoy morning and afternoon shared activities including boating, canoeing, game drives and walking safaris. All meals will be served at camp.
No matter what option you choose, you can take comfort in knowing that Old Mondoro offsets all of its carbon emissions, including those from the domestic flights that transport you into and out of camp. In fact, the Lower Zambezi is the first national park in Africa that is entirely carbon neutral.

Today you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Lusaka. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and assisted with check-in for your international flights home. Safe travels!
