Most Memorable Travel Experience

One of my most memorable travel experiences was exploring southern Spain. We visited Madrid, Granada, Córdoba, Málaga, Murcia, Segovia, and Sevilla. From the very start, I was captivated by the architecture, from the ancient Roman aqueducts in Segovia to the soaring ceilings of the Sevilla Cathedral, the Moorish influence of the Alhambra in Granada, and the Alcazaba in Málaga. We wandered cobblestone streets lined with jacaranda and orange trees, saw an authentic flamenco performance, and ate our weight in tapas. I climbed La Giralda, stood in awe at Plaza de España (featured as Naboo in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones), and visited the General Archive of the Indies, feeling the weight of centuries of global history. The whole experience invigorated me—and sparked an even deeper desire to keep exploring the world.

My Most Recent Trip

One of my most recent travel experiences was visiting Oahu, Hawaii. I went with a friend who is Native Hawaiian, and we stayed with their family in Ewa Beach, which made the experience feel much more personal and rooted in the local culture. I tried all the food I could get my hands on—fresh poke and sushi, plate lunches, huli-huli chicken, kalua pork, malasadas, spam musubi, manapua—and explored both the lively streets of Honolulu and the peaceful corners of the North Shore. I paddleboarded from Lanikai Beach to the Mokulua Islands, swam in the ocean every chance I got, and even gave surfing a shot—though I completely wiped out (admittedly, more than once). We also did a lot of hikes such as the Olomana Trail, the Pali Notches, the Haiku Stairs, Diamond Head, and more.
