Most Memorable Travel Experience

There have been so many memorable travel experiences over the years, it’s hard to pick just one. While on a night safari in the Okavango Delta and being completely mesmerized by the millions of stars and pointing out the various constellations with a laser, I heard something. We pointed the spotlight in the direction of the noise. Holy cow, there was a mama hippo with her calf headed our wayWe immediately jumped back in the safari vehicle, cruised back to camp where a fire was already lit, and had one more sundowner before securely zipping up our tents, not to venture back outuntil the morning! I also think about how infinitesimal I felt swimming near whale sharks just off the coast of Donsol, Philippines.

Most Recent Trip

My most recent trip abroad was returning to South Africa with my two kids with a layover in Ireland on the way and a layover in Italy on the return home. It is a whole new adventure traveling internationally with kids and luckily, we had smooth transitions and wonderful experiences on safari seeing my children’s favorite animals – the giraffes and the lions. Many of the Cape Town restaurants and wineries are so kid friendly with playgrounds or grape juice tastings, dessert decorating or other special activities, it was a pleasant and fun time for all!
