Most Memorable Travel Experience

My most memorable travel experience will forever be traveling with my entire family to South Africa and Botswana. Sharing your family’s first safari is something really special. I am so grateful my family was able to experience first-hand the special trips Travel Beyond tailors to each client. Being able to spend so much time together where nobody is preparing anything, nobody is repairing anything, nobody has anywhere else to be – that is truly what this is all about. This was definitely a trip where we made some really great memories together.

Most Recent Trip

My most recent trip was my trip to South Africa and Botswana with my family in November 2024. We spent three nights at Mashatu Lodge where the game viewing was incredible. The dry rocky terrain was other worldly. While we were there, we spent a morning at Mashatu’s Matebole Photo Hide. This was an experience like no other. To be that close to the elephants that were drinking, playing and spraying at the water hole was something I will never forget. After leaving Mashatu, we headed to South Africa to Farmstead at Royal Malewane.  This property was something out of a fairy tale! It was spacious, intricate, detailed and yet welcoming. Just perfect for our family for our stay here! The friendly staff made our stay very special. The guides and trackers were incredibly knowledgeable, explaining everything as we went along. The game viewing was intense, from the teenage male elephant trumpeting, to the hippos letting us know that we were close enough, to the pride of lions advertising that we were in their territory. Such a memorable trip for so many reasons – not the least of which was some much needed family time!

Favorite Property

Farmstead at Royal Malewane (Thornybush Reserve, South Africa)

This is my absolute favorite property! The property itself is absolutely stunning – but what sets it apart even more is the staff, guides, trackers and all of the behind the scenes. Working together, they made my family’s stay there just amazing. They seemed to know what we needed before we even did.
