Why Travel Beyond
Why do I enjoy working at Travel Beyond? This is an easy question. Over the past 20 years, the people at Travel Beyond have become family. I truly love each person (past and present) and can’t imagine life without knowing them. I have had tremendous opportunities to travel and experience things I never imagined, which is amazing, but the day to day experience of working with and getting to know the best group of people imaginable surpasses that. I’m a career “mom” and that seems to be my title at work, too. I would not want it any other way. I love watching everyone succeed and grow and if I am lucky, being a small part of their success.

Most Memorable Travel Experience
While traveling aboard the National Geographic Resolution in Greenland, I had an incredible experience watching humpback whales. Seeing the whales breaching and showcasing their massive tails as they dove back into the sea took my breath away! It felt like being on a safari, but on the water, searching for these majestic creatures from the safety of our zodiac. The excitement of spotting them and the sheer scale of their presence was unforgettable. I have been fortunate to visit many incredible places, but being in the presence of so many whales displaying their strength and grace was one of the best travel experiences of my life.
In general, I’ve always preferred animals to people, so I suppose that is what originally inspired me to love being outdoors and seeing the world around me. I’ve lived all over the United States and visited all 7 continents. I love the culture in Africa, the history of South America and the people of Asia. Between Navy life and the travel industry, I feel like I have lived enough to fill two lives! It’s hard to declare a favorite when each destination becomes my new favorite place; I have come to think that means I simply love to travel and experience new things!
