I was lucky to be able to return to Egypt this year, on a journey which included many exclusive experiences that can be arranged with special permission. One of these was a private visit to the paws of the Sphinx, instead of simply viewing it from afar. This extraordinary statue, with the head of a man and the body of a lion, is even more impressive up close!
