Day 1

Arrive Johannesburg, South Africa

Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met for your private transfer to Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa. Accommodations will be reserved for two nights, including breakfast daily. Relax and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure!

Day 2

Johannesburg

This morning after breakfast, you will be met by your local private guide for a tour of the Apartheid Museum, considered the pre-eminent museum in which to learn about 20th-century South Africa (open on certain days of the week). While here, you will embark on a historical voyage of discovery, a personal exploration of the past that examines apartheid right up to the first democratic elections held in 1994. The tour of the museum lasts approximately two hours, after which you will be transferred back to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 3

Johannesburg, South Africa to Okavango Delta, Botswana

This morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport for your commercial flight to Maun, Botswana. Upon arrival in Botswana, you will then board a shared light aircraft flight to Vumbura Plains in the Kwedi Concession.

Your home for four nights, this camp is perfectly situated to afford seamless access to both land and water ecosystems and activities. Explore the floodplains from a traditional mokoro or track a pride of wild dogs from the comforts of a safari vehicle. No matter how you choose to adventure, you will feel instantly and fully immersed in the sights and sounds of the Delta.

This afternoon, you can set off on a shared safari activity and dinner will be served at camp.

Days 4-6

Okavango Delta

On safari! Enjoy three days of shared activities, all of which expose you to the region’s incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes. On land, set off on day or night game drives to spot lions, elephant, and even leopard. You can also venture onto the water, be it a leisurely mokoro ride (traditional dugout canoe) or a boat cruise. Those interested, may also cast a line or two, in the hopes of catching some of the Delta’s many fish species, including talapia and bass. All meals will be served at camp.

Day 7

Okavango Delta to the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve

Today, at a time to be advised by camp management, you will to transferred to the airstrip for a shared light aircraft flight to DumaTau.

Enjoy three nights in a Tented Room, including all meals. This afternoon after lunch, meet your guide and the other guests for an afternoon game drive in a shared vehicle. Dinner will be served at camp.

DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion,’ is located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park. It is situated close to the source of the Savute Channel on Osprey Lagoon, one of the many lagoons within the Linyanti Swamp system, and between two elephant ‘corridors’ – all of which results in a plethora of wildlife on game drives along the Savute. DumaTau Camp is raised off the ground to take advantage of the fantastic river views.

Days 8-9

Linyanti Wildlife Reserve

On safari! Enjoy your morning and afternoon shared activities, including boating, fishing, game drives, and nature walks.

DumaTau is located close to the source of the Savute Channel, with access to the Linyanti Swamps, floodplains and mopane woodlands, thus offering an excellent combination of habitats. Well known for its elephant concentrations as they congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months, the area is also renowned for general wildlife including red lechwe, Burchell’s zebra, giraffe, buffalo and warthog. Predator sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyena are plentiful.

Day 10

Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, Botswana to Johannesburg, South Africa

This morning, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to Maun Airport. Upon arrival in Maun, you will check-in for your flight to Johannesburg.

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will check-in for your return flight home.
