Cape Town

This morning after breakfast, you will be met for your full-day Cape Peninsula Tour, including entrance fees for Chapman’s Peak, and Table Mountain Cableway tickets.

The first stop is Table Mountain’s Lower Cableway Station, for a five-min revolving cable car ride to the top. Standing 3,500ft above sea level, the top of Table Mountain affords bird’s-eye views of both the city and peninsula, as you explore its summit. Descend and depart the city along the Atlantic seaboard passing Sea Point, Bantry Bay and Clifton. Bakoven and Llandudno, with their ghostly shipwrecks, are also fantastic sights on the way to the fishing village of Hout Bay. From here, navigate the 114 curves of 600m/1,970ft high Chapman’s Peak Drive. Explore the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park, home to fabulous birds and very special fauna, such as Cape mountain zebra, bontebok and the charismatic Cape baboon. Climb (or ride the world’s first environmentally friendly funicular) to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical vistas of False Bay. After lunch, we visit Boulders Beach to see the penguins, and then head home through the naval village of Simonstown and over scenic Boyes Drive, taking in the views of the fishing harbor at Kalk Bay and the seaside havens of St James and Muizenberg. Day 10

Cape Town

This morning after breakfast, you will be met by your private guide who will be at your disposal for a full-day. Together, you will see the city highlights, including entrance fees for a Township Walking tour, District 6, and Cape Castle.

Explore the sights, rich culture and history of Cape Town as you stroll through Company Gardens and visit the South African Museum. Stroll through the city to Greenmarket Square, where you can browse the bustling market stalls for beautiful and unique African mementos. From there drive to the Castle, South Africa’s oldest building, with its formidable collection of Old Cape paintings. Take in the nearby Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation on his release in 1990, and then move on to the District Six Museum, which showcases the colorful life of this legendary suburb and the forced relocation of its residents during the Apartheid era. We then visit the Iliso Care Society where we meet the staff and gain an insight into the lives they touch. Established in 2005 in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats, Iliso began as a soup kitchen serving daily meals to hundreds of residents. The project has since expanded and offers a range of services to the local community including new skills development, an internet café, community empowerment workshop as well as providing safety and care for orphans, vulnerable children and the elderly. Return to your hotel via numerous other township districts and with a new perspective on South African township culture.
