Incredible Wildlife in Tanzania + Kenya

East Africa is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, and throughout the course of this 13-day trip, you will undoubtedly encounter it all. From rhino in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to the big cats of the Serengeti, you will find yourself up close to many of the continent's most magical animals and, from July - September, have the opportunity to witness one of nature's most intense events-- the Great Migration. Whether surrounded by thousands of moving wildebeest or watching a cheetah, you will instantly and forever feel in absolute awe of Africa and of our natural world.

Day 1

Arrive Arusha, Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will be met for your private transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge. Accommodations will be reserved for one night, including dinner and breakfast.

Day 2

Arusha to Ngorongoro Highlands

This morning after breakfast, you will be met for your private road transfer to Entamanu Ngorongoro, your home for the next two nights. Situated in the highlands, the property affords panoramic views of the crater below and provides a perfect base from which to explore. This afternoon, enjoy a shared activity and dinner, to be served at camp.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Highlands

On safari!

Spend a full-day visiting the Ngorongoro Crater. You will enjoy a hot lunch on the Crater floor, with breakfast and dinner being served back at camp.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park

This morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Manyara Airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to the Northern Serengeti. Here, you will be met by your guide and driven to Serian Lamai, where you will stay for three nights. Just a short distance from the Mara River, a main crossing points during the Great Migration, this camp is ideal for those hoping to observe one of nature’s most magnificent events (June – November).

This afternoon,  you will set off on a shared safari activity. Dinner will be served at camp.

Days 5&6

Serengeti National Park

On safari! Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. From lions to giraffe, elephants to leopard, you will have the opportunity to spot an incredible array of wildlife. If the timing is right, you might also witness huge herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River and moving into Kenya as part of the Great Migration. All meals will be served at camp.

Day 7

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania to the Masai Mara, Kenya

Today you will be transferred to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flights to Kenya’s Masai Mara via the Tarime and Migori airstrips. Please note that these flights may make stops to pick up and drop off passengers at other airstrips en route.

Upon arrival at the Tarime airstrip, you will be met and transferred by road in a shared vehicle to the Kenya/Tanzania border town of Isebania (approx. 40min drive), where you will complete customs and immigration formalities. Following the completion of border formalities, you will be transferred by road in a shared vehicle to the Migori airstrip in Kenya (approx. 30min drive) for your shared light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara.

Upon arrival in the Masai Mara, you will be transferred to Ngare Serian located in the Mara North Conservancy. Accommodations have been reserved for three nights. This afternoon, time permitting, you will set of on a shared safari activity. Dinner will be served at camp.

Days 8&9

Masai Mara

On safari! Enjoy two days of exploring the conservancy’s 1,500 acres of wilderness.  Whether on foot or from within a jeep, you will instantly immerse into the landscape and likely encounter some of Africa’s most famous animals– including lion, leopard, and elephant. You might also partake in an early morning hot air balloon ride, during which you’ll gain an entirely new perspective of your surroundings. All meals will be served at camp.

Day 10

Masai Mara to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

This morning, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your guide and drive to Lewa Wilderness, your home for the next three nights.

The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy boasts 62,000 acres of conserved land and the richness of wildlife here is astounding, including the Big Five, as well as species unique to northern Kenya, such as the Grevy’s Zebra.  This afternoon, you will set off on a shared safari activity, followed by dinner back at the lodge.

Days 11&12

 

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

On safari! Enjoy your morning and afternoon shared game drives.

In place of or in-between game drives, you might also set off on a walking or horseback riding safari. You can also visit the Conservancy Headquarters to learn about its conservation programs or hike in the Ngare Ndare forest to an incredible waterfall. All meals will be served at the lodge.

Day 13

Depart Africa

This morning, you will be driven to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be  transferred to House of Waine, where you have use of a day room.

Later today, you will be met for your transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to check in for your flights home.
