About Raja Ampat: In the far eastern reaches of Indonesia – and spanning over 27,000 square miles – lies one of nature’s masterpieces: Raja Ampat.

Raja Ampat is located in the heart of Indonesia’s Coral Triangle and is home to one of the Earth’s most concentrated and diverse marine life areas.  Its 612 islands showcase crystalline waters, incredible islets and the extraordinary cone-shaped formations of Pulau Wayag. It is home to over 600 species of corals (nearly 75% of all known species of reef-building corals!) and 1,500 species of tropical marine fish (about 50% of all known species!). For even more exploration, venture onto the islands to see incredible forests as well as the near-threatened Wilson’s and Red Birds of Paradise.

Adventure awaits as you then board a skiff or kayaks for a tour of “The Passage,” a narrow waterway between Waigeo and Gam Island that was traveled by Alfred Russel Wallace in 1860. Enjoy the beautiful mangroves and catch sight of saltwater crocodiles, hawksbill turtles, and hornbills before returning to the ship for sundowners and dinner.

Your Days Aboard Aqua Blu: Each day you will have one or two excursions, typically once in the morning and once in the afternoon. You will spend two- to three-hours on each excursion before returning to the boat for your meals and time to relax onboard.
