Day 2

Auckland

Depart by ferry for Waiheke Island, a short 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland. Waiheke Island is 57 square miles of beautiful sandy beaches, native bush, vineyards, olive groves and laid back seaside villages. Since the late 1970’s Waiheke’s easy Mediterranean climate has seen the growth of a flourishing wine industry, and today it is called “Wine Island!”

You will also visit an award-winning olive oil mill, followed by two vineyards, each offering a range of gourmet tastes to accompany their wines. Treats may include oysters straight from Te Matuku Bay, wild honey and artisan cheeses.

Enjoy lunch at one of Waiheke’s top vineyards before boarding the return ferry to Auckland. Spend the remainder of your day at leisure.

This morning you will met for your private transfer to the Auckland Airport for your flights to Blenheim.

Upon arrival, you will be met for your private transfer to Allan Scott for wine tasting and lunch. As one of the first independent wineries to be established in Marlborough (1990), Allan Scott Family Winemakers have made a name for themselves in this highly competitive industry.

Following lunch, enjoy a private tour of the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, which showcases the development of aviation. The stories of the men and women that flew in war are brought to life in two distinctive exhibitions: Knights of the Sky features an extensive collection of World War One aircraft and memorabilia belonging to Sir Peter Jackson, and Dangerous Skies, which takes you on both a geographical journey as well as a historical one.

Upon completion of your tour, you will transferred to The Marlborough Lodge. Accommodations will be reserved in a Premium Suite for two nights, including dinner and breakfast daily.
