The dedicated trailing dogs are experts in trailing human scent and have the ability to “back track” allowing the Ranger’s to confirm a suspect’s activities on the reserve once apprehended. The Multi-purpose dogs are perfect all-rounders who specialize in handler protection, suspect apprehension and the detection of various forms of contraband in hard-to-find places. Tango K9’s counter poaching operations also include anti-poaching patrols, snare sweeps, preventative maintenance of the reserve boundaries and community education.

When you visit Tango K9, you will meet the Rangers and watch a demonstration put on by these INCREDIBLE working dogs (and handlers). Observing them in a training exercise allows you to see how this unique relationship is proving to be a force in the counter-poaching toolbox. It is an amazing display of communication and trust!
